Hear from Annabel Luxford whose results include winning the U23 World Triathlon Champs in 2004, 3rd at IM 70.3 World Champs in 2013 and 5th in 2006 Commonwealth games in Melbourne. Annabel had a very successful triathlon career racing across all distances and she will share her triathlon journey and what she did to take steps forward in her life and her triathlon journey, including coming back from injury that ended her 2008 Olympic Games hopes.

Bayside Triathlon Club coach and former high level Age Group triathlete Clint van Beveren will also provide some key things to consider as part of your off season training, with a specific focus to those athletes who are gearing up to Melbourne 70.3.

Specialist Sports Physiotherapist Paul Visentini will cover off on the clinical side with a focus on load management and how it relates to injury and bike fit.

A panel including Certified Sports Podiatrist John Osborne will answer any questions you have.


Annabel Luxford represented Australia at an elite/professional level from 2004-2021. Major achievements include:

  • U23 ITU (now known as World Triathlon) World Champion
  • ITU Elite World Championship medallist
  • ITU World Cup series winner
  • Commonwealth Games Melbourne 5th
  • Australian Champion over the Sprint, Olympic and Half Ironman distance
  • Ironman 70.3 World Championship medallist
  • 20+ 70.3/Half IM distance wins including European and Asia Pacific Champion.
  • Multiple Ironman podiums and a top 10 finish at the Kona Ironman World Championships.

She held an AIS scholarship from 2000-2011, is University Blues recipient from the University of Qld, currently works in Digital Content at NAB and is slowly completing a post graduate law degree. She has a two year old son, and still loves to swim, ride ( very occasionally indoors) and run.
